It’s so amazing how becoming a mom is essentially, becoming more like our Lord, Jesus….or at least that’s what I’ve heard. Whether or not this is accurate for me and my current state, this is to be determined.
My heart is definitely that I want to become more like Jesus and I want my kids to think good things about God because of my example. Currently, I’m burntout, I was getting frustrated with everything, I was short tempered, everything that came out of my mouth seemed to be a complaint about something. I’m pretty sure i’m not the only mom who gets to this point. I ended up, because of external circumstances, receiving the gift of 3 days away from both my husband and two blessing kids. They truly are my joys, but I was not feeling like I could show up the way I need to/know I’m called too.
But there’s hope for me and there’s hope for you too!
As I sat at my parents home, 10 hours away from where we are raising our family, I began to ask God what it was he wanted for me to say in this particular blog about intentional motherhood. I have a great mom, she’s not someone i consider a spiritual mom, but she has truly done her best with what she knows.
I dont want to just do what I think is best. I want God to intervene in who I’m becoming and who I’m to become that reflects a Kingdom Mom to my children and the world around me. That is my heart. I want to look more like Jesus in loving others, in heart, character, integrity and in all His fullness.
Then, I heard His voice. He said: “I’m giving you a vision, wisdom and direction for who you are to become.”
I was excited! But guess what, the pen ended up in my hand, and I’m full of faith in the process that God has given me.
Here are some questions I began to ask myself in response to hearing God on this topic. Feel free to use these questions for your own dreaming with God. Write this down, and believe Him in what He shows you. Digital download available at the link below 🙂
THE VISION OF FUTURE ME WORKSHEET
Remember, “Not by might, not by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord.” We canNOT do any of these things on our own. Its time to choose God, to trust Him and to surrender to His process and in faith bring all of this to the Lord.
God already has shared with each of us who we are to Him, and I strongly believe someone will be helped by these 7 simple questions. Feel free to dig deep, dig down deep into the soil and grow strong roots in His word and truth.
